Scientific Publishing House IVG
Academic publishing with a wide subject range.
The house publishes academic journals and books. Its programme covers economics, law, political science, psychology, sociology, earth and space sciences, agriculture and agricultural sciences, engineering and technology, medicine and health sciences.
What the house publishes
Scientific Publishing House IVG is an academic publisher. It produces journals and books, and it works with authors whose research deserves a stable public record. The house is part of Groupivg, a business group based in Szczecin, Poland.
Academic publishing is a craft as much as a service. A manuscript has to be read with care, prepared with consistency and presented so that a reader can follow the argument without fighting the page. The house treats those steps as part of the intellectual work, not as decoration added at the end.
The house does not publish a single kind of text. It works across the sciences, the social sciences and the humanities, and it keeps a place for work that crosses the lines between them.
Subject fields
The programme names nine broad fields. They are a map, not a fence: work that sits between two fields is still welcome if it can be explained clearly.
- Economics
- Law
- Political science
- Psychology
- Sociology
- Earth and space sciences
- Agriculture and agricultural sciences
- Engineering and technology
- Medicine and health sciences
Who the house serves
Authors come to the house with research that needs a public form. Editors and reviewers give that work a second reading. Readers, libraries and institutions rely on the published record to find work they can cite and build on.
The house also serves the wider group. Material published here can inform the journal, the conference practice and the consulting practice, though each brand keeps its own editorial decisions.
Editorial care
The house prepares academic work for publication in journals and books. It pays attention to the clarity of the text, the consistency of the record and the usefulness of the final object to the reader.
Independent organisations publish useful guidance on scholarly publishing. The Committee on Publication Ethics sets out principles for ethical editorial practice. The ISSN International Centre explains how serial publications are identified, and the International ISBN Agency explains the book identifier system.
